Terrain map Your role You command 2nd Company combat team of the fictional 71st Mobilized Infantry Battalion, 7th Mobilization Division: three rifle platoons and an attached tank platoon. The battalion order has just arrived. Whether you take it as written or check it is up to you.
Higher commander's intent Delay the Grey advance guard between the Cheongsol stream and PL GARAM so the division can occupy its rear position, and come out with the company fit for the next task.
Situation Enemy: the advance guard of the Grey force 3rd Mechanized Brigade (a mechanized infantry battalion reinforced with a tank company) is moving south, 30 km north. It leads with reconnaissance and, when blocked, tends to fix the front and swing round through a flank ford. Friendly: division delays the Grey force north of PL GARAM until 1800 on D+1; from 1830 the reserved demolition of Okgye Bridge may be fired on the division commander's authority. Battalion has 2nd Company (east) and 3rd Company (west) forward, 1st Company in reserve. Civilians have already been evacuated by higher headquarters and local authorities.
Mission Battalion delays the Grey advance guard between PL CHEONGSOL and PL GARAM until 2000 on D+1, then passes rearward behind PL GARAM and reorganizes behind the division rear position.
