Terrain map Your role You lead 3rd Squad, 1st Platoon: nine soldiers blocking the junction south-east of the building the raid force has gone into. The situation is fictional; the enemy is a fictional "Grey force" of armed men without national markings. Residents are still in the old town, and they are a constraint to protect, never a target.
Higher commander's intent Keep Grey reinforcements off the ANVIL building until the raid force has finished and pulled out, and bring everyone who went in back out.
Situation Enemy: several dozen Grey force gunmen spread through the old-town alleys, with rifles, automatic weapons and anti-tank rockets, firing from rooftops and tall buildings and moving behind residents. Friendly: the raid force (1st and 2nd Squads with part of company HQ) is searching the ANVIL building, and the vehicle column waits on Jangteo-gil to the south. One covering helicopter is overhead. Residents: people are still in the shops and houses, and residents are sheltering in the market hall to the east. Terrain and weather: low brick shops and narrow alleys, a 14-storey block and a tower block to the north. Sunset around 1850.
Mission 3rd Squad, from 1615 until the raid ends, blocks the west and south approaches at the Soegol-ro–Jangteo-gil junction (blocking position NAIL) to keep Grey reinforcements from reaching the ANVIL building.
