Your role

You lead 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon: eight soldiers and a drone operator attached from platoon, ten in all. It is a grey-zone night, and the opponent is the Grey force, a fictional light infantry enemy.

Higher commander's intent

Platoon leader's intent: block the Neureupjae crossroads until 0600 so Grey infiltration teams cannot come down onto the supply route. The purpose is an unbroken supply route, more than the crossroads itself. Hand over to 3rd Squad at 0300 and come back to the platoon assembly area.

Situation

Enemy: for three nights Grey light infantry has come down both trails in groups of two to eight; assessed to have small recon drones and mortars. Friendly: 1st Squad is on the east ridge about 600 m away. The Dorang gully between the squads lies on the boundary and nobody watches it. The platoon CP, a four-man standby team and one vehicle are on the supply route to the west. Weather: monsoon rain, no moon, sunrise 0540.

Mission

2nd Squad occupies a blocking position at the Neureupjae crossroads from 2140 to 0600 to stop the Grey force reaching the supply route, and hands the position over to 3rd Squad at 0300.
