Trench Foothold

2026-03-14 · Fictional: west end of the Kkachideung trench line, north of the Beodeul stream · Small-unit actions · Fictional situation

Your role

You lead 2nd Squad, 1st Platoon: a nine-strong assault squad going into the west end of a trench line at night to seize a foothold. The situation is fictional and the enemy is a fictional light infantry, the Grey force.

Higher commander's intent

Get 2nd Platoon through the trench line before full daylight. The foothold can be small, but it has to last until 2nd Platoon is through.

Situation

Enemy: a Grey force light infantry squad holds the west end of the Kkachideung trench line. Thermal drones have found two; the rest are unlocated. The Grey platoon main body is in the trench line to the east, watching with small drones and firing mortars. Friendly: 1st Squad as support by fire (both machine-gun teams attached), 3rd Squad following, part of the company 60mm mortars. Terrain and weather: thaw mud, no moon, wire in front of the trench.

Mission

2nd Squad enters the west end of the Kkachideung trench line (Objective KITE) by 0500, secures a foothold and ensures 2nd Platoon's forward passage.
