October 17 update — duel rules v3, faster pages, column photos

Duel rules v3

• Every cell of a duel's outcome table is now "base matchup + named modifiers (terrain, prepared positions, surveillance, surprise and so on, ±1 each)". The reveal shows the whole calculation from matchup to final score.
• Initiative comes from the last two phases' tempo, and the attrition modifier is gone. Draws are now rare. Duels already in progress finish under the rules they started with. Full rules are on the duel rules page.

Faster pages

• Public pages are pre-rendered and each page loads only the font glyphs it uses, so the first screen appears sooner on phones.

Column photos and privacy

• Wikimedia Commons photos in Battle Analysis columns are now copied to our own servers, so viewing them no longer sends your IP address to Wikimedia. Credits and licences are unchanged. The privacy policy paragraph was updated accordingly (effective October 17).
