October 22 update — nine close-quarters battle (CQB) scenarios

Nine CQB scenarios (Small-unit actions)

  • Squad: "The Blue-Roof House" (getting a pinned team out of a hillside house), "The Long Night in Soegol" (a blocking position in an old town and a night withdrawal), "The Hillside Raid" (a hasty raid, then holding two houses through the night).
  • Platoon: "Galmaepo Block 3" (clearing a town block with attached tanks and engineers, residents in a shelter), "The Anchor Compound" (taking an old government compound under fire restrictions), "The Garam-ro Wall" (covering a barrier line between high-rise estates, with a partner force).
  • Special forces company: "Two Ferry Villages" (simultaneous recovery from villages on both banks of a river), "The Old Terminal at Solmoru" (recovery at a remote airfield terminal, with abort criteria), "Siege of the Walled Residence" (a three-direction entry at the end of a long siege).
  • Each has 12–13 phases with success and failure paths, counterfactual phases and 4–5 endings. Earlier decisions (gaps in the cordon, use of fire, splitting the force) change later phases and injects.
  • Only the decision structure comes from real cases; names, units, places and dates are changed. The public cases and doctrine consulted are listed under each scenario's sources. The safety of hostages and residents is a constraint to respect, never a choice or a score.

Maps

  • Some small-unit maps use simplified building and road outlines from OpenStreetMap, credited on the sources page.
